Last week I visited 78 Derngate, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I had been meaning to visit for I while but hadn't had the time. Having gone round the house I now understand his style and I really like it.
I found out that the stripes on the walls are actually made of fabric
I found out that in the bathroom the "tiled walls" are waterproof wallpaper
I really like this geometric print and the colours and shapes used
The wallpaper is fabric with the shapes printed/stencilled onto them
The front room
The light in the front room, the squares above it on the light fitting are designed to reflect the light
I love the combination of different patterns and colours in the photo
The kitchen
I love this flower pot with the squares on it, it is one of my favourite parts of the house
They took over the houses next to 78 Derngate so that they didn't have to use any rooms in the house for a gift shop etc.
The back of 78 Derngate
The front
Hope to write again soon !!!
