Blemish Busters

Hi!!!
Naturally I have very blemish prone skin, and sometime I feel like they are taking over my life and also taking away my confidence. So, here is what I use to keep my skin looking as blemish free as I can:
Clearsil Clear 'n Refine Daily Scrub
This exfoliator is very gentle and you have to really rub it into your skin, but I find it prevents my skin from breaking out as much as it normally would. The product suggests to use it everyday (as in the title of the product), but instead I use it twice a week as I find it easier and more effective that way.

Lush Tea Tree Water
I tend not to use this product very regularly, instead I just use it when my skin is particularly bad and I use it as a normal toner and then go back and dab it into individual blemishes.

 Lush Grease Lightning
I love this serum-like product, as it clears my skin really quickly as well as feeling very refreshing when you apply it. I apply it with my finger in any blemishes I have and it reduces the redness, I tend to apply it in the evening so that my skin is clearer for the next day. It contains witch hazel and tea tree oil which are natural antiseptics, which makes this product so effective.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
I feel this product is a necessity for everyone to have in the house as it is so useful in everyday life, whether it is for blemishes or cuts of infections. I put a small amount of the oil onto a cotton bud and place it in my blemish, it takes a few days for the blemish to go, but it takes less time than without and the blemish is less noticeable by the next day if you apply it at night.

Witch Concealer
I use this concealer to hide my blemishes, it does not feel heavy and has quite high coverage and it does not make my blemishes any worse. But in some areas of my face it was very noticeable so you have to blend it into the surrounding skin well.

I do not use all of the products at the same time, instead I try to mix it up depending on the condition of my skin.

Blood covered sheet prop

Hi!!!
Recently I had to create a prop for a project. The prop I had to make was a sheet that looked like it had been covered in blood.

To create the appearance of a blood covered sheet I:
  • Found an old sheet and put it on the washing line
  • Got some red poster paint and thinned it down with some water
  • Found an old drinks bottle and made a hole in the top with a compass
  • Put the watered down paint into the bottle
  • Dripped the paint onto the sheet through the hole in the bottle
  • Leave it on the washing line to dry (and hope the neighbours do not get the wrong idea)
If you are going to do this I would suggest wearing an apron as the paint had a tendency to drip onto my clothes.

I really did not expect to enjoy making this prop, as much as I did. I am not sure what it is but I find distressing clothes and objects really enjoyable and I tend to look forward to these sorts of tasks and projects.

Vintage shopping

Hi!!!

A few weeks ago I went to a vintage sale with a friend. I love vintage style things and I rushed at the chance of going to a vintage sale as I had not heard of any before and I will hopefully go to some more when I find out about some more.
Here is what I bought:

A tin
I love tins and I thought this one was lovely with the strip of images around the edge of the tin.

2 compact mirrors
I thought these mirrors looked really cute. I have cleaned out the powder inside and am using them as mirrors in my handbag, the gold one I feel looks more sophisticated and autumn/wintery where as the flowery one looks more relaxed and spring/summery.

Dartmoor Adventure

Hi!!!
Last week I went on a short holiday to Dartmoor. I love walking, but I often get bored walking on paths and following set routes with no variation. So I decided to go for a short 5 day break to Dartmoor.
Whilst I was there I:
  • Visited some friends that I know that live there
  • Went for some walks across the moor
  • Visited some gardens, which was lovely to experience in spring
Here are some of my favourite photos form the trip:
