Meeting Guy West

Hi!!!
This week I got the opportunity to attend a talk given by Guy West, from Jeffery West; the shoe company. He talked about how he entered the business of men's shoes, which he did by buying 2nd's from the factories in Northampton and customising them and selling them on at market. He told us how we could enter the business and the process involved with designing to making the shoes. I really enjoyed this and it really opened my eyes to the industry and the opportunities it brings.

Here are some of the shoes he has designed and sells:
  • He sells quite a lot of designs with a red aspect

  •  A few of the designs are takes on the classic brogue
  • Most of his designs are very bold and outgoing, which he sells mainly to band members

  •  Here is a take on a Chelsea boot with a red aspect

  • All of the shoes he sells have quotes burnt onto the leather on the sole

Day out with friends.....

Hi!!!

On Saturday I had a lovely day out with my friend Alix. We started off the wonderful day by watching Monsters Ink University at Cineworld for the amazing price of £1 each. I love the film it made me feel like a little kid again.

Afterwards we had a dangerous walk across the car park to McDonalds, the weather at the moment has been awful as it has been cold and wet, windy and rainy.

The afternoon we spent watch This Is Us, I am a bigger fan of One Direction now than I ever was before.

In the evening we went roller skating at Danes Camp and listened to some very cheesy songs.

Part way through we had a lovely pack-lunch style dinner, which I have not done in years, this is what we had:
  • Crusty cheese roll
  • Quavers
  • Ribena juice packet

Cambell's Soup

Hi !!!
I saw these soup tins in Tesco and as I am a sucker for packaging I could not resist getting them, especially since they are covered in such bold colours in a Pop Art style which I absolutely love. The soup tins I bought were Cambell's and they are package in Andy Warhol inspired/designed labels and although I am not the biggest fan of tomato soup I could not resist!

I love that on the back of the tins it features iconic Andy Warhol quotes:

Flake Away & Clean on me Review

Hi !!!

I love the feeling of getting up and being motivated to attack whatever the day throws at me. To do so I always wake up and have a nice relaxing shower using either Soap & Glory Flake Away or Clean on me. I have been using then for a while now and here are my thoughts.

I have been loving these products (especially Flake away as I have been repurchasing it for years and this must be my forth or fifth pot so far), whereas I was given the Clean on me shower gel for my birthday and I instantly fell in love with it. I have always loved Soap & Glory products partly because I am a sucker for packaging and I love the vintage style of containers.

Clean on me
Clean on me is an amazing shower gel with a "built in body lotion". This product smells a bit of orange, I find it really refreshing and reminds me of summer. The lotion leaves your skin smelling nice as well as leaving it moisturised and smooth as well as it being in a useful container with a pump.

Flake Away
Flake away is a body scrub. It has big crystals in the scrub as well as Shea butter so it leaves the skin feeling moisturised and smooth. This pot is quite expensive but well worth it as it is an amazing product and a little of it goes a long way.
