I always seem to start lots of project but never get round to finishing them. In my lounge I have a basket (about to overflow) of unfinished projects and things to mend. This weekend I decided it was time to delve in and start finishing things I had started many months ago.
I had started making this pencil case ages ago, I used the fabric from an old skirt for the lining and everything else I found around the house. To my surprise it didn't take long at all to finish, only about 10 minutes. I really like how it has turned out and I wish I had finished it earlier.

For an art project I have been studying tiger prints and I have looked at the patterns of their stripes. I used this as inspiration to make a pocket square. I designed a pattern, silk painted it, made it into a pocket square and then photographed it.
I really like the design and the outcome and when I was browsing the internet I couldn't find anything like it.

This is just to say Happy Birthday, one year ago today I started my blog.
I had wanted to this for a while but I didn't know what I wanted to blog about. After browsing other peoples blogs, I had an idea of what I wanted to write about and did it ... However as time has gone on this blog has done what I wanted it to, what I have blogged about has changed during this year and I have found what I am interested in - photography, so this blog has given me a reason to take photos. I have really enjoyed blogging this year and it seams to have flown by and I look forward to what the next year brings...

Recently I have tried to find new places to walk and as a result I have been walking more. I have been on a few walks where the weather has not been good so I have no good photos from them.
I have just been on a walk near Summer Leys. The walk was a bit muddy for my liking and in place I was carrying a lot of mud with my on my boots (sooooo heavy). It was a really nice walk apart from the mud and towards the end of the walk I got to see a murmuration. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of that as at the beginning of the walk I dropped my camera in about 2" of mud (I couldn't have picked a muddier spot), so instead of my camera I used my friends and the shutter speed was not fast enough to get any good photos of the murmuration.

I have never really liked change and will always stay with the old for as long as possible rather than switching to the new.
I have no clue how old my Nokia brick is or how long I have had it, but all I know is it was starting to wear a little too much for my liking, as:
- 3 tiles were cracked (2 on the way)
- Silent didn't work
- It randomly received texts from months ago
- Has hardly any memory for texts
- Doesn't always receive texts
- Doesn't receive mass texts
So with New Year coming up I thought it was time for an "upgrade", a friend had very kindly given me an old iPhone 3(I don't know what) that they weren't using and didn't want. After it had sat round the house for I while I finally thought it was time to switch and the New Year was a perfect time to do so.
New Year ... New phone
Although I don't completely know how to use it and don't have many of my previous contacts, I am gradually learning and so far I am glad I changed!
